Sleep is easy for some, difficult for others. Ever wake up feeling worse than when you went to bed? Getting a broken nights sleep and feeling constantly tired?

We've been there and this is why this site exists. Let us guide you through a few top tips that may help you get a better quality of sleep and wake up feeling refreshed and vitalised.

Try and get some exercise

Working out in the afternoon or early evening helps trigger an increase in body temperature and the post-workout drop may help when falling asleep. Exercise is also sometimes linked to helping reduce stress and anxiety levels, helping you get a good nights sleep. If exercise is out of the question, then even just going for a walk and getting some fresh air can help.

Set a bedtime alarm

This may sound crazy, but setting an alarm an hour before you go to bed, so that you can wind down, relax and get your body ready for sleep. Also try to avoid digital devices in this hour before bed, to ensure your brain is not over stimulated.

Get your sleep temperature right

Being too hot or cold can have an impact on how well you sleep. When you fall asleep your body temperature decreases and having the room at the right temperature can help. You should aim for between 16 and 19 degrees Centigrade for the best environment.

A cooler room will be much easier to get to sleep, although if the room is too cold, it can lead to you waking as your body tries to get warmer. You may want to look at a different tog duvet for summer months to help stay cool.

Cleanse your environment

Feeling calm and relaxed in your bedroom is extremely important. If you have bright wallpaper or strong coloured walls, this can stimulate the brain, making it harder to relax. Similarly watching TV or looking at digital devices such as phones or tablets can make it harder to relax as the screens give off a daylight glow which tricks your brain into staying awake. If you can, charge your phone in another room, so that there is no temptation to check it over night.

Have the right Pillow

Finding a pillow that suits your style of sleep along with a density that you prefer can be a lot of trial and error. We will be adding guides in the future which should help you make the correct decision.

A comfortably warm Duvet

Getting a duvet with the right tog rating can really help you maintain the right body temperature throughout the night. More natural filings and casings may also help the feel against your skin, increasing your comfort level.
